The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is required at every California public school with 21 or more English learners. Its main purpose is to ensure that the needs of English learners are supported and represented in school decisions.
Key responsibilities include:

Advising the principal and staff on programs and services for English learners.

Helping develop the school’s plan for English learners and recommending it to the School Site Council for inclusion in the School Plan for Student Achievement.

Assisting with the schoolwide needs assessment.

Promoting regular school attendance among families.

Electing a representative to the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC).

The School Site Council (SSC) is a group of parents, students, teachers, administrators, and other school staff who work together to improve student achievement and ensure that the school’s resources are used effectively.
Key responsibilities include:

Developing, reviewing, and approving the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), which outlines the school’s goals, strategies, and use of funds to support student success.

Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the plan and the progress made toward achieving the goals.

Advising on the school’s budget to ensure that funds are spent in alignment with student needs and district priorities.

Encouraging parent and community involvement in supporting school programs and student learning.
In short, the SSC serves as a decision-making body that helps guide the school’s academic priorities and use of resources to best support all students.

The PTSA is a collaborative organization made up of parents, teachers, students, and staff that works to strengthen the connection between home, school, and community to support student success and well-being.
Purpose:

Functions:

Organizing events and programs that build school spirit, community, and parent involvement (e.g., fundraisers, assemblies, appreciation events).

Raising funds to support student programs, classroom needs, and school improvement projects.

Providing volunteer support for school activities and initiatives.

Facilitating communication between families and the school to address concerns and share information.

Encouraging student participation in leadership and service through the student branch of the PTSA.
